Frequently Asked Questions

Dr Chang only sees clients who are 17 years and older.

If you are under 17 then you will need to ask your GP or other specialist to refer to a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist or Paediatrician.

We require a referral from a General Practitioner. Once assessed and accepted by Dr Chang our administration team will contact you to organise an appointment.

You will receive email confirmation at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.

We welcome any questions you have before your appointment. Our preferred method is to email our administration team, but you can of course phone our clinic.

You are very welcome to bring a partner, carer, or support person to your appointment.

Initial appointments can be done over Zoom. Please inform us prior to making your booking.

We also offer telephone consults for follow-up appointments.

Please email us for a price list.

Dr Chang will determine the cost for paperwork fees, for example, completing support letters or forms.

Payment is by EFTPOS at the time of the consultation.

We do not accept cash or bank transfer payments.

Following payment our reception team will process your rebate claim from Medicare. The rebate will be directed into the bank account that has been nominated by you with Medicare.

We can process the rebate payment immediately if you bring your debit card (unfortunately this cannot be done with a debit card held on a mobile phone or smart watch).

If you need to reschedule, please email or call our reception team as soon as possible so we can organise another appointment.

If it is less than 48 hours before your appointment we charge a cancellation fee of $150.00, but if you forget to attend your appointment on the day then you will be charged the full consult fee. Also, there is no Medicare rebate for a late cancellation or a missed appointment.
